How we use your details
We only ask for what we need to answer your enquiry and look after your stay. We don’t sell your details or use them for marketing.

Who we are
Kazi Mingi Beach House is a private holiday villa in Turtle Bay, Watamu, Kilifi County, Kenya. We are responsible for the details you send through this website. To contact us about your data, use the enquiry form.
What we collect
- From the enquiry form: your name, email address, phone number, the dates and number of guests, and anything you write in the message box.
- If you stay with us: payments you make and notes needed for your stay, such as arrival time or a cot.
- Automatically: your IP address and browser type when you send an enquiry, to protect the form from spam and abuse.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, confirm availability and your price, and arrange your stay. You ask us to do this when you send the form and tick the consent box.
- To keep booking and payment records, as Kenyan tax law requires.
- To stop spam and fake enquiries.
Who else handles it
Only our team sees your enquiry. Our house staff see your name, dates and stay notes, but not your contact details or payments. We use a few services to run the website:
- Google Cloud hosts the website and its database.
- Our email provider (Google or Microsoft) sends and stores our emails with you.
- WhatsApp, only if you choose to message us there.
These services may store data on servers outside Kenya. They are bound to protect it.
If you book through Booking.com or Airbnb, their own privacy policies apply to what you give them. We don’t receive your name or contact details from their calendars.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t lead to a stay: deleted after 12 months.
- Bookings and payments: kept for 5 years after your stay for tax records, then your name and contact details are removed.
- Messages caught as spam: deleted after 90 days.
Your rights
Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act 2019, you can ask us to show you the details we hold about you, correct them, or delete them. You can also object to how we use them. To do this, use the enquiry form. We’ll reply within 14 days.
If you’re not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
Cookies
The website doesn’t use advertising cookies. Our team’s sign-in page uses a cookie to keep staff signed in; it isn’t used for visitors.
